Artist Series (Dec. 2025 - Dec. 2026)
Inspired by the morals of the world told through folklore stories, I will be focusing on illustrating different folklore creatures and beings from around the world in multiple pieces. This is the start of my journey and I hope you are interested to follow along and see what these strange and dark tales tell through art.
For updates and works in progress, I will be building a Patreon for those interested. Please sign up for the Newsletter at the bottom of this page and an e-mail will be sent to you once that Patreon is formed. Thank you for your support as I journey through the creepy stories of the world!

December 2025 Folktale Illustration:
The Yule Cat (Jólakötturinn)
Hailing from Iceland, this horrifying feline comes to collect and eat children who have not received new clothes for Christmas.
The folklore started when wool production began in Iceland in the Middle Ages. Families began to bond more together telling stories while spinning their wool to keep up with the high demand.
The children were rewarded with clothing for their hard work. It was also believed that it was a gesture of good will if you gave new clothes to your friends as well as a child to save your friends from getting snatched up by The Yule Cat.
With Iceland being as cold as it is during the winter months, it is no surprise that parents made up this folktale to keep their children warm and not getting taken up by winter's harsh cold temperatures. They made something else to represent it- Jólakötturinn.
